Be part of it
Volunteers are an essential part of Whispers of Love.
People from around the world come to share their time, skills and energy and, in return, become part of a warm and welcoming community.
Whether you have teaching experience or not, what matters most is your openness, creativity and willingness to connect with the children.
What you can do
Volunteers can support the school in different ways, depending on their interests and skills:
- Assist with lessons, including English, reading, Maths and creative subjects
- Lead games, arts, music or sports activities
- Help organise daily routines and classroom activities
- Support ongoing projects
- Share new ideas and skills with the team
You will often work with one group of children, while having the freedom to adapt your approach and make the experience creative and personal.
Life at the School
As a volunteer, you will stay at the school and become part of everyday life with the team and children.
You will have your own bedroom and access to a bathroom with running water. Fresh, home-cooked meals are prepared daily, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, using local ingredients.
Beyond your time at the school, you will have the opportunity to explore the surrounding areas, visit nearby towns such as Entebbe and Kampala, and discover more of Uganda’s culture, nature and communities.
